How it works:
1. A writer chooses a movie--something that has informed, inspired, irritated, oppressed, shaken, or moved their writing practice.
2. The writer is paired with a conversation partner (someone engaged with the film's themes or subject matter--a dancer/ scientist/ death doula/ painter/ film scholar/ mechanic/ gardener, etc).
3. Artists, convo partner and audience meet pre-show for snacks and conversation.
4. The writer gives a reading from their work, introduces the movie, and explains why they've chosen it.
5. The conversation partner explains the artistry of their work and its connection to the movie.
6. We watch the movie.
7. The writer and conversation partner talk about art making and life, cross disciplinary ideas, activism and any of the other smart, funny, wise and weird things they're currently thinking about.
8. The audience joins the conversation.
9. The writer and artist lead the audience in a writing prompt.
10. We go home and dream of a world made better through expanding community.
